Seriously, do I even have a theme for this blog? Like one minute I want to talk about make up and the next I get all nerdy and want to talk about games. Well, here we go, I thought I’d do a couple of mini game reviews tonight on what I’ve been playing recently.
Luigi’s Mansion 2
Even though this has been out for a while, I bought it recently because I’m getting really into the Halloween spirit. Nintendo + haunted mansion = ❤ Basically, the plot is King Boo shattered the “Dark Moon” in “Evershade Valley” and this made the friendly ghosts of the area hostile. Professor E. Gadd was studying the ghosts and he asks Luigi to catch the ghosts and to collect the shards of the moon, to fix it and restore the peace. It’s a cute but creepy neighbourhood which I just love! It’s a brilliant adventure/ exploring type game for the Halloween season… Or anytime of the year really. I love that Professor E. Gadd can call you and talk to you as you go about the game, he’s just adorable. There’s a few puzzles and things to figure out, it’d take so long to get bored of it. One of the best games I’ve ever played. 10/10
Super Smash Bros.
This was only released a couple of weeks ago and I had it pre-ordered because I was so excited. I’m a huge fan of the last two on the Wii & GameCube (Brawl & Melee), so I had to get it. Unfortunately, I don’t have a Wii U or I would have just got it on there because it looks even better. The concept of the game is just loads of playable Nintendo characters fight in various locations from other Nintendo games and there’s lots of other mini games too. There’s no story mode in the 3DS version which really disappointed me but it’s still worth getting if you don’t have a Wii U. I think my favourite bit of Super Smash Bros is the epic soundtrack, I could listen to the gameplay music for ages. I also love that you can control characters that you often wouldn’t get the chance to play as like Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy. I do think it’s one of those games you can play regularly but you’d get bored if you were on it a long time in one go because there’s no constant flowing story to keep you hooked. 8/10
Super Princess Peach
This actually came out on the regular DS back in 2006 I think, I remember being much younger when I got it. I completed this years ago but I’ve been rediscovering my love for it lately. The plot consists of a role reversal where Mario, Luigi and Toad get captured by Bowser and then Princess Peach goes through several worlds to rescue them. I love that Peach is seen as a damsel in distress but she totally kicks ass in this game and that’s why I love it so much. I do think they should release another one with improved combat and maybe an alternate outfit that’s more practical like Zelda has her Sheik form and a better weapon rather than her umbrella. It’s more of a game for the girls but I highly recommend it. 9/10
